EAGLE, Idaho — The Mustangs will have somewhat of a familiar face on the sidelines come football season.
Just weeks after Paul Peterson announced he was stepping down as the head football coach after 14 years, the program announced on Facebook that current Athletic Director John Hartz will step into that role.
Hartz, the former girls' golf coach, has been Athletic Director for less than a year, replacing Scott Criner, who left the position to return to Rocky Mountain High School.
During his 14 seasons at Eagle, Peterson led the Mustangs to 13 winning seasons, 12 playoff appearances, three 5A state title games and won it all in 2009.
Peterson has said he will continue to teach at Eagle for the immediate future.
