BOISE, Idaho — The 4A classification's throne belongs to a new team. Undefeated Homedale climbed into the No. 1 spot in the latest Idaho high school football state media poll, released Tuesday.

Homedale swept the first-place votes following a 50-0 win over Jerome, its second shutout in 2024. The Trojans surpassed previously top-ranked Sugar-Salem, who fell to No. 3 with consecutive losses to Star Valley (Wyoming) and Kimberly.

A trio of teams leaped into the Week 5 media poll, with unbeaten Tri-Valley making its debut in the 1A rankings. The best of 6A includes two SIC squads, headlined by Rocky Mountain. The Grizzlies are averaging more than 50 points per outing.

Friday night's lineup features intriguing top-five showdowns. No. 2 Highland (6A) plays host to No. 4 Pocatello (5A), while top-ranked West Side battles fourth-ranked Declo in the 3A classification.
