Idaho high school football rankings: State's top teams entering Week 1

Four new teams entered the state media poll Tuesday, including Minico and Fruitland. The 6A rankings feature a pair of Treasure Valley powers.

BOISE, Idaho — Despite a condensed opening weekend schedule, the first taste of prep competition generated changes across Tuesday's Idaho high school football state media poll. 

Four teams entered their classification's respective rankings, including Minico (5A) and Fruitland (4A). The Spartans pitched a shutout against Skyview at home, while the Grizzlies upset previously-ranked Kimberly to open the season. 

Following Rigby's 10-point loss to No. 1 Coeur d'Alene, the 6A rankings feature a pair of Southern Idaho Conference squads inside the top three. All preseason state title favorites maintained their top-ranked status in Tuesday's media poll. 

The prep football rankings entering Week 1 are listed below by classification, as voted on by sports reporters across Idaho. Before action kicks off, vote for KTVB's Friday Night Football Game of the Week:
