Timberline senior wins second Gatorade Player of the Year award

BOISE -- Timberline senior shortstop Parker Price was awarded his second consecutive Gatorade Idaho Baseball Player of the Year Tuesday morning.

The future Gonzaga Bulldog batted .539 with 36 RBI's, leading the wolves to a fourth place finish at the 2016 state tournament.

Vallivue head coach Justin Schneidt told USA Today High School Sports, "Parker Price is the best player in our area. He brings so many intangibles that you cannot teach. He has a baseball intelligence that is off the charts and is always playing the game multiple plays ahead. He truly is one of the finest competitors that i have ever coached against."

Price was also named the 5A Southern Idaho Conference Player of the Year, all while maintaining a 3.91 grade point average.
