CHICAGO -- It was quite the month for Sofia Huerta.
On Wednesday, the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) announced the Centennial High School alum as it's April "Player of the Month."
Huerta scored two goals and recorded 13 shots, six on goal last month.
One of those goals came just 44 seconds into Chicago's game against Houston on April 18.
She was also awarded NWSL's "Player of the Week" award just last week.
This is the second time Huerta has been named NWSL's Player of the Month, the last coming in May of 2015.
On April 8, the USWNT faced Mexico in an international friendly in Houston.
Huerta entered the game in the second half, making her the first player in international soccer history to play for and against the USWNT.
She was affiliated with the Mexican National Team from 2013 to 2014.
Huerta and the Red Stars take on Alex Morgan and Marta of the Orlando Pride Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m. MT. Click here to watch the game live.
