PAYETTE -- Hall of Fame baseball player and Payette, Idaho native Harmon Killebrew, who passed away Tuesday after a battle with cancer, will be buried in his home town on Monday, May 23.
Mark Heleker, principal at Payette High School told NewsChannel 7 a public service will be held in the gymnasium at Payette High School at 10 a.m. Monday.
No format for the event has been decided, but the public is encouraged to attend to pay their respects.
The burial ceremony on Monday will be a private event.
Harmon's sister and mother were buried at Riverside Cemetery. Heleker believes that is where the Payette native will be laid to rest as well.
