LARAMIE, Wyo. — Boise State junior running back Ashton Jeanty hit a major milestone Saturday night in the Broncos' close win over Wyoming: becoming the first FBS player since 2019 to rush for more than 2,000 yards in a single season.
Jeanty, who continues to garner Heisman Trophy chatter, finished the game with 169 rushing yards on 19 carries and one touchdown.
It was his 11th-straight 100-yard game this season.
"There's been countless Heisman moments this season by Ashton, starting from game one to game 11," said head coach Spencer Danielson after the game.
"What he's done through 11 games and what our team has been able to do, let people decide that. I know what my message always is, is pull back the layers to see who this young man is, and he's a 10 out of 10 human being, loves the Lord, loves his teammates, does things right, and lives the right way. A 20-year-old kid that's on a mission and he deserves credit for it," Danielson said.
Jeanty now has 2,062 rushing yards with one game left in the regular season to add to that total. The Broncos will face off against Oregon State on Friday, November 29 at 10 a.m. at Albertsons Stadium.
