BOISE, Idaho — Boise State junior Ashton Jeanty has repeatedly shown his skills on The Blue, securing his sixth Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week.
With the tailback in position, the Broncos beat out the Wolf Pack 28-21 on Saturday. Jeanty ran for 209 yards and three touchdowns, on a career-high 34 carries, which helped secure the victory for Boise State.
A spokesperson for Boise State Football, David Dietrich, said, "Jeanty totaled 122 yards after contact and forced eight missed tackles. He recorded 13 first downs and had a long rush of 46 yards. This season, the HEI2MAN candidate has more rushes of 20+ yards (17) than rushes for a loss (14). This was his third 200-yard, three-touchdown effort of the year, tying for the third-most in the FBS since 1996."
Jeanty's record is impressive, currently with 1,734 rushing yards and 23 rushing touchdowns, which leads the nation. Jeanty averages 140.9 yards after contact per game, which is more than the total rushing yards of any FBS player, said Dietrich.
With his 6th week of selection, the Offensive Player of the Week is the first to secure this many weeks since 2017 - when Rashaad Penny from San Diego State did it.
AP Polls have BSU ranked as No. 13 on Monday.
Boise State will be traveling to San Jose State for a Mountain West conference game on Nov. 16, with the game kicking off at 5 p.m.
