BOISE, Idaho — What a week it has been for Boise State interim head coach Spencer Danielson. Despite the uncertainty of what the future holds as the program searches for its next leader, the Broncos continue to attack the recruiting trail.
Since stepping up following the dismissal of Andy Avalos, Danielson not only guided Boise State to its best performance of the season in Logan, but he's also landed three class of 2024 verbal commitments in the past three days.
While pledging to a program with a solid backbone like Boise State is a relatively safe bet – especially with Director of Athletics Jeramiah Dickey on the hunt for a home-run hire – getting a trio of commits under an interim head coach is rare. Danielson is taking the opportunity in stride and it was made obvious last week that players enjoy playing for him.
Prior to this week, the Broncos had hauled in just one 2024 commitment since early September, according to 247Sports. Dylan Riley, a three-star running back out of Moreno Valley, California, announced his decision back on Oct. 21, picking Boise State over the likes of Fresno State and San Diego State.
The three consecutive announcements between Monday and Wednesday are also somewhat unique, featuring an in-conference transfer and product of the NFL Academy hailing from London.
