BOISE, Idaho — The Boise State Broncos have jumped four spots in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll. The Broncos moved from 25 to 21 in a week's time.
The ranking is the highest the team has had since November,1 2020.
"Boise State (3-1) already holds the distinction of the nation’s best record while ranked in the AP Top 25 poll. Following last night’s win, the Blue and Orange are now 114-21 (.844) while ranked by the AP, the best record of any team over the past 40 years. Alabama, ranked No. 4 in both polls, follows Boise State with a 328-68-2 (.827) mark while ranked by the AP. The Crimson Tide upset second-ranked Georgia on Saturday, 41-34," a news release stated.
Not only did the team have a successful night, the Albertsons Stadium also had a record crowd of 37,711.
"Led by Spencer Danielson in his first full season, Boise State looks to become the first Mountain West program to win back-to-back championships since San Diego State did so in 2015-16. Achieving such a feat will put Boise State in the discussion for the new, expanded, 12-team College Football Playoff format beginning this fall. Last year, Danielson became the first coach in college football history to win a conference championship with an interim title," stated the release.
The Broncos got 253 votes in this week's poll, according to the release; "In the US LBM Coaches Poll, Boise State received 103 votes, finishing one spot out of the Top 25. Illinois, ranked No. 25 in that poll, received 122 points."
