Boise State's game against Portland State confirmed

Portland State canceled their game last week, due to exposure of whooping cough - a very contagious respiratory illness.

BOISE, Idaho — Portland State University (PSU) had to cancel their Saturday, Sept. 14 game, after whooping cough exposure hit the Vikings.

The game cancellation brought into question whether or not PSU would be able to play Boise State this Saturday, Sept. 21. However, PSU confirmed in a news release that it's game on.

"As a precaution, all PSU players who may have been exposed to the illness have begun a five-day course of antibiotics, under the guidance of our OHSU medical professionals. These measures are expected to be completed in time for the team's next scheduled game at Boise State on September 21. Only athletes and staff who have completed the antibiotic regimen will be eligible to travel and participate in the upcoming game," a PSU spokesperson said.

In a news conference on Monday, head coach Spencer Danielson said the team is prepared for the upcoming game, which will be played at Albertsons Stadium - the first home game of the season. Kick off is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. MT. The game will be televised on FS1.

KTVB's Bronco Roundup: Live from The Blue show will have the latest news and a live look at the teams on the field Saturday at 7 p.m. on KTVB.COM and the KTVB+ app on Roku, Fire TV and Apple TV.
