BOISE, Idaho — The winningest quarterback in college football history is back in familiar territory. Boise State great Kellen Moore appeared on the ballot for the College Football Hall of Fame for the fourth-straight year Monday.
Moore has earned a spot on the national ballot each year since becoming eligible for the College Football Hall of Fame. The former Bronco gunslinger is one of 77 FBS players listed, alongside names like Aaron Donald, Marvin Harrison, Mark Ingram and Michael Vick.
To be eligible for the hall, a player must have been named a first team All-American by a "selector as recognized and utilized by the NCAA for its consensus All-America teams." Players become eligible 10 full seasons following their final year of intercollegiate football.
Moore was named a first team All-American by the Football Writers Association of America in 2010, the same year he was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy and won WAC Offensive Player of the Year for the second-consecutive season.
The Boise State Athletics Hall of Fame inductee led the Broncos to a 50-3 overall record as a four-year starter. Moore finished his career ranked second in NCAA history with 142 passing touchdowns. He also ranked third with a 168.97 passing efficiency and fifth with 14,667 passing yards.
Moore set a Mountain West record with a .743 completion percentage, connecting on 326 of his 439 attempts during the 2011 campaign. He also threw 43 touchdowns in his lone season in the league, good for a spot on the Mountain West 25th Season Football Team.
The 2025 ballot for the College Football Hall of Fame also includes nine FBS coaches. The ballot is sent to more than 12,000 members of the National Football Foundation (NFF) and current inductees for votes. The votes are tabulated and submitted to the NFF's Honors Courts, which select the class.
The class will be announced in early 2025, with specific details to come. The College Football Hall of Fame class will be inducted on Dec. 9, 2025, during the 67th NFF Annual Awards Dinner Presented by Las Vegas at the Bellagio Hotel & Resort.
Less than 0.02% of players who have competed since November 1869 have been inducted into the hall. Caldwell High School graduate Randy Trautman, who played defensive tackle for the Broncos from 1978 to 1981, is the only Bronco in the College Football Hall of Fame.
