The City of Boise honors Boise State Heisman hopeful Ashton Jeanty with a banner at City Hall

Jeanty is just the second Bronco to be nominated for the award.

BOISE, Idaho — Ahead of the 2024 Heisman trophy ceremony in New York City on Saturday, the City of Boise and Mayor Lauren McLean unveiled a banner of Boise State junior running back Ahston Jeanty at City Hall on Wednesday.

The Heisman Trophy is awarded to the best player in college football.

Jeanty, one of four Heisman Trophy finalists, is Boise State's second-ever nominee for the award behind former quarterback Kellen Moore in 2010.

This season, he finished with 2,497 rushing yards, a program record, and 131 yards shy of breaking the all-time single-season record set by Barry Sanders. Jeanty also rushed for 29 touchdowns, tied for sixth all-time.

The banner will hang from the along at City Hall facing Capital Boulevard. Blue and orange lights will illuminate the building this week before the ceremony.

The awards ceremony will be on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. Mountain Time on ESPN.

Jeanty is up against Colorado's Travis Hunter, Miami's Cam Ward, and Oregon's Dillon Gabriel.

The Broncos, who won the Mountain West Conference and earned a first-round bye in the College Football Playoff, will travel to Arizona and play in the Fiesta Bowl on December 31 against the winner of Penn State vs. SMU.
