National Signing Day: Boise State football welcomes 18 new players

A pair of transfers and 16 high school athletes signed with the Broncos on Wednesday. At least nine signees are expected to enroll early at Boise State.

BOISE, Idaho โ€” The Boise State football program on Wednesday landed 18 new players, including a pair of last-minute transfers, as part of early National Signing Day.

16 high school student-athletes signed their National Letter of Intent with the Broncos, while head coach Spencer Danielson also inked Joseph Marsh from the College of the Canyons, and Ukoka Ezeani out of Butler Community College.

Danielson announced at least nine of Wednesday's signees are expected to enroll in January, with Kaden Anderson, Travis Anderson, Roman Caywood, Sire Gaines, Joseph Marsh, Clay Marineau, Trevor McKenna, Lopez Sanusi and Trevyon Tolmaire set to arrive early.

Boise State's 2024 signing class features an athlete from Ireland and players representing seven different states, including the Gem State. Gaines, who is the second-ranked prospect in the Broncos' group, decommitted from Arizona State on Dec. 3. Four days later he verbally committed to Boise State.

During Danielson's National Signing Day press conference, he said six "super seniors" are expected to return to Boise next year in Ben Dooley, Sheldon Newton, Alexander Teubner, Tyler Crowe, Markel Reed and Michael Callahan.

The Broncos sit 80th nationally and fourth in the Mountain West on 247Sports' team rankings of 2024 recruiting classes. Danielson said Boise State is currently working to land a transfer portal quarterback, adding "it's all about the right fit."
