BOISE, Idaho — The undefeated Boise State Broncos are traveling to Sin City to take on the UNLV Rebels in a Mountain West Conference matchup.
The No. 16 Broncos are returning to the gridiron after being on a bye week last week, and this matchup against the 1-3 Rebels is the first road-conference game for Boise State.
Boise State leads the series against UNLV 7-3, dating back to 1972. Since 2011. when the Broncos and Rebels became conference foes, Boise State has beaten the Rebels four straight times.
The last time the Broncos traveled to Sam Boyd Stadium was in 2015 when Boise State beat the Rebels 55-27.
The Broncos are in the driver's seat for the Group of 5's bid to a New Year's 6 bowl, which is the Cotton Bowl in Dallas this year. After No. 18 UCF lost to 4-1 Cincinnati 27-24 last night, Boise State has a comfortable poll lead ahead of the next ranked Group of 5 school - No. 24 SMU. To get to the Cotton Bowl, Boise State needs to continuing winning and win the Mountain West Conference Championship in December.
