BOISE -- Boise State quarterback Ryan Finley left Friday night's game in the first quarter with what appears to be an ankle injury.
The redshirt sophomore was injured at the tail end of a five-yard scramble up this middle in which he was tackled by Idaho State linebacker Jake Pettit.
Finley was helped off the field and trainers taped his ankle. Finley then tried to stand up and apply pressure, however, he quickly leaned on a pair of trainers and was taken to the locker room.

At the time of his injury Boise State led 7-0. Finley had completed 5 of 6 passes for 59 yards to go along with a pair of scrambles for seven yards.
Finley made his debut as starter in a 16-13 win over Washington in the season-opener on Sept. 4. In his second career start, he threw for a career-high 297 yards, but also turned the ball over three times.
Redshirt sophomore Tommy Stuart came into the game to replace Finley in the first half. True freshman Brett Rypien came in after halftime.

Boise State head coach Bryan Harsin on the backup quarterback role earlier this week:
You'd love to. You'd love to have an opportunity for those guys to play. We have our decisions depending on what happens. Let me just say that. But we haven't had to make that decision yet. So we have a plan at the backup position, but it kind of depends on what happens. But to answer your question, you'd love for these guys to get in there and play. I know they would love to get in there and play. We just haven't been in those games. (Hopefully) it's not because somebody gets injured, but hopefully we have an opportunity to get into a game where we can see some guys go out there and play a little bit more.
