Idaho preparing for everything in quest for Potato State Trophy

Idaho State is coming off of a loss where they allowed over 700 yards of total offense, but the Vandals are preparing to face their best.

MOSCOW, Idaho — The Vandals have won the last three matchups with Idaho State, and the Bengals gave up over 700 yards of total offense last week, and they didn't make a single stop.

However, that led to a change at defensive coordinator, and it prompted Idaho to be prepared for anything on defense.

Coach Eck knows that the Bengals will bring their best, especially with a brand-new Potato State Trophy on the line.

"We're excited for this game, you know. I think this team is much improved, they didn't play their best football last week at Eastern, but I think they'll be primed to play hard against us and I'm sure they'll have a good crowd down there as well," Eck said. "Good team, I know they're going to be geared up to try to go 6-6, which would be a heck of an accomplishment for them, the last couple of years they hadn't won six games combined, so I think they'll be fired up, and we've got to be ready to go and play our best football, because this is a very meaningful game for us."

The Vandals are looking to reach nine regular season wins for the first time since 1994.

Idaho and Idaho State will kick off at 3 p.m. in Pocatello.
