Sources: Boise State's Jeramiah Dickey agrees to contract extension through 2028-2029

Dickey's contract was set to expire in January 2026.

BOISE, Idaho — Boise State University and Director of Athletics Jeremiah Dickey have agreed in principle to a contract extension, sources have confirmed to KTVB Sports Director Jay Tust.

Should the contract extension be signed, it would make Dickey one of the highest-paid athletic directors in the Mountain West.

His original contract was set to expire in January 2026.

During Mountain West Media Days in Las Vegas last month, Dickey said he knew his name was being mentioned for other jobs, but expressed his love for Boise State.

"I love being a Bronco," Dickey said. "I know my family loves being in Boise but my faith is important to me and I believe everything happens for a reason and giving the will to Him and trust in the process."

"I know my name is out there for various jobs and at the end of the day that's more of a testament to our team and our leadership and our head coaches and the success we've had in three and a half years under very difficult circumstances as the industry changes and that's a point of pride. It's very humbling when you're mentioned for jobs but that's a testament to the people I have around me and the work they're doing on a daily basis and I'm grateful for that because it means we're doing really powerful and positive things for Bronco Nation."

One of Dickey's biggest projects during his tenure is the development of the North End Zone at Albertsons Stadium.

The project will add about 1,600 premium seats, 12 field-level suites, 44 loge boxes, 148 ledge seats, and 882 club seats.

Boise State plans to break ground in January 2025, with its completion expected in August of 2026, meaning Dickey will be around to see the project to completion.

During the last three years, Boise State Athletics has raised at least $20 million.
