Boise State to face Oregon in Las Vegas Bowl

The game marks Boise State's 16th-consecutive bowl appearance.
Boise State Broncos take the field all carrying hammers prior to the first half of the Mountain West championship game against Fresno State Bulldogs at Albertsons Stadium.

BOISE - The Boise State football team will take on Oregon in the 2017 Las Vegas Bowl, the university announced Sunday afternoon.

The Broncos were selected for the bowl game following their 17-14 victory over Fresno State in the Mountain West Championship Game Saturday night. The win also landed the Broncos at No. 25 in both the AP Top 25 and the Coaches Poll.

The bowl game will take place Saturday, Dec. 16 at Sam Boyd Stadium, with kickoff set for 1:30 p.m MT. It will be televised nationally on ABC.

The game marks Boise State's 16th-consecutive bowl appearance, the sixth-longest streak in the country.

Oregon finished the season as the 7th-place team in the Pac-12 with an overall record of 7-5, including a 4-5 mark in conference.

The game will mark the third meeting between the teams. The Broncos won both games - a 37-32 victory at Oregon in 2008, and a 19-8 win in Boise the following year.

Boise State played in the Las Vegas Bowl for three-straight years between 2010 and 2012, and won all three matchups.

Fans are encouraged to purchase their bowl tickets through the university online here, at the Athletic Ticket Office on the west side of Albertsons Stadium, or by calling (208) 426-4737.

Season ticket holders will be seated based on their priority point rank, so long as they purchase their tickets by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 5.
