BOISE -- With the 2013 NFL Draft kicking off on Thursday, former Boise State linebacker Tommy Smith remains hopefully he'll be among the 254 collegiate football players to hear their names called before Saturday.

Smith s agent, Richard Kopelman of Klass Sports, says that his client recently worked out for the Falcons in Atlanta, adding that the Miami Dolphins have expressed interest as well.

Kopelman also mentioned that most teams continue to view Smith as a linebacker, although the ones that remain interested like his versatility.

Along with playing linebacker at Boise State, Smith lined up at fullback on multiple occasions and contributed on special teams as well.

Kopelman finished by saying that if Smith does not get drafted, he is confident he will get picked up as a free agent, adding it s all about getting him in a (training) camp.

Smith finished with 61 tackles at Boise State last season, the third most on the team.

Boise State has not had a linebacker selected in the NFL Draft since both Lance Sellers (6th round) and Jim Ellis (10th round) were picked up in 1987.

While Korey Hall played linebacker at Boise State, he was drafted by Green Bay in the 6th round in 2007 as a fullback.
