Bishop Kelly alum Annie Carey breaks Paralympic record

The Boise native and 2023 Bishop Kelly graduate will also compete in the 100m and 200m dash at the Paralympics in Paris.

PARIS, France — It was a historic day for Boise native Annie Carey.

Carey, a 2023 graduate of Bishop Kelly High School, jumped 4.96 meters to break the Paralympic record in the women's T44 long jump Saturday morning in Paris. 

The performance was good enough to finish in sixth place overall.

Carey will also compete in the women's T64 100m and 200m dash at the 2024 Paralympics. 

She will back be on the track in Paris on Tuesday, Sept. 3 in the 200m T64 semifinals.
