Chloé Dygert kicks off Team Idaho's Paris Olympics run Saturday

The two-time Olympic medalist, who trains in Boise and is coached by Kristin Armstrong, takes center stage in the women's individual time trial Saturday morning.

BOISE, Idaho — Two-time Olympic medalist and Team USA cyclist Chloé Dygert kicks off Team Idaho's competitors at the Paris Games on Saturday in the women's individual time trial.

Dygert captured silver medal on the track in the team pursuit at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, followed by a bronze-medal performance in the same event during the Tokyo Olympics. She secured a Paris bid by winning the 2023 UCI Time Trial World Championships.

The Indiana native trains in Boise and is coached by Kristin Armstrong, the most decorated female cyclist in United States history. Armstrong also coaches mountain biker Haley Batten, who is making her second appearance on the worldwide stage at the 2024 Olympics.

Dygert was selected to represent USA Cycling in both the road and track events. Following Saturday's time trial, she will compete in the road race on Sunday, Aug. 4, before women's team pursuit qualifying gets underway Tuesday, Aug. 6.

How to watch

The women's individual time trial begins at 6:30 a.m. MT Saturday. Dygert will be the final rider of 35 competitors to hit the 34.2km course, which starts at the Invalides and ends at the Pont Alexandre III Bridge.

  • Television: The time trial airs at 7 a.m. MT Saturday on KTVB Channel 7 and NBC.
  • Streaming: Coverage begins at 6:30 a.m. MT Saturday on Peacock, NBCOlympics.com, NBC.com and the NBC and NBC Sports apps.

After a crash at the 2020 UCI Road World Championships, Dygert has battled back to become Team USA's favorite to bring home a gold medal. In addition to her Olympic medal in the team pursuit on the track, Dygert finished seventh in the women's individual time trial in Tokyo.

"It shows again that it’s about trusting the process, believing the team around me, and trusting God’s plan," Dygert said in a CANYON//SRAM Racing news release. "There were times when I thought I wasn’t going to make it. But I’m here in Boise for the last preparation and feeling good.”

The women's road race featuring Dygert is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 4 at 6 a.m. MT. She will begin team pursuit qualifying at 9:30 a.m. MT Tuesday, Aug. 6.
