EAGLE, Idaho — A rare albino was spotted in Eagle next to Avimor. Shelley Del Rio saw the deer Tuesday, Feb. 6.
Albino deer are rare, but the Department of Idaho Fish and Game said they do receive calls for sightings every year. Albinism is the absence of melanin, and it can occur in plants, animals and people. It happens in about one of every 30,000 deer.
In 2016 KTVB reported Susan Briggs Tarbox sent in photographs her husband took at the Dry Creek Cemetery in Boise.
