Double stocking, double stoked and double the chance of reeling in a fish: More steelhead released in Boise River Nov. 22

The first release of 250 steelhead was on Nov. 17. IDFG is stocking 250 more this Wednesday, just ahead of Thanksgiving.

BOISE, Idaho — According to the Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG), 250 more steelhead will be released in the Boise River on Wednesday, Nov. 22. This is on top of previously releasing 250 steelheads Nov. 17.

For anglers, both experienced and new, this means there is double the chance of catching one. 

The catch limit for steelhead fish is, "2 fish per day, six in possession and 20 for the season." Additionally, barbless hooks are not required for Boise River steelhead angling, the release stated.

Fish are stocked at the following locations:

Glenwood Bridge

Americana Bridge

Below the Broadway Avenue Bridge behind Boise State University

West Parkcenter Bridge

Barber Park
