BOISE, Idaho — The Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG), is reminding people that transporting and stocking fish without a permit could result in a felony charge.
The department said conservation officers and scientists have found carp, goldfish, zebra danio, Oscars, tilapia and loach in Idaho waters, and red-eared slider and snapping turtles, crayfish and Mississippi ghost shrimp in the Boise River.
IDFG said stocking or transporting any live fish without a permit is illegal and that officers have continued to find fishers transporting live fish. People should also never release aquarium fish into any body of water in Idaho.
