Boise police investigating fatal Thanksgiving crash

An early morning crash on Thursday morning put two people in the hospital. One later died due to their injuries.

BOISE, Idaho — Boise Police Department is investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred early Thursday morning. The crash hospitalized both the driver and the passenger. The passenger ultimately passed away from their injuries.

Around 1 a.m., police responded to a report of a crash on the 3000 block of S. Roosevelt Street. Upon arrival, police said evidence indicated the driver of the vehicle drove toward a dead end and crashed into a freeway wall. The exact speed the driver was going is not known, but police say the rate of speed was high.

Both the driver and passenger of the vehicle were taken to a nearby hospital. The passenger was in critical condition upon arrival and later died from their injuries. The driver is currently under investigation for driving under the influence.

The identities of the driver and passenger were not released.

The investigation is ongoing. No other information is known at this time.
