BOISE, Idaho — GasBuddy reports that gas prices in Boise have dropped three cents since last Monday. The new average price for a gallon of gas is priced at $3.57 per gallon.

GasBuddy surveys 216 stations in the Boise area, and found that prices in Boise are 0.5 cents per gallon lower than a month ago, and is priced at 29 cents lower than a year ago.

The cheapest station in Boise was priced at $3.42 per gallon on Sunday, while the most expensive was priced at $3.99 per gallon, a difference of 57 cents.

As for the Gem State, the lowest price in the state on Sunday was $3.14 per gallon, where the most expensive was $4.39 per gallon, a difference of $1.25 per gallon.

Nationally, the average price of gas has risen less than one cent, average $3.47 per gallon on Monday. The national average is down less than one cent, and sits at 25 cents per gallon lower than a year ago, said GasBuddy.

"We continue to see a mixed bag when it comes to gas prices across the country: states in the Great Lakes region are still being jolted by the Joliet, IL refinery outage, which has also impacted gas prices in some areas of Canada, while areas like the West Coast continue to see notable declines," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. "With the summer winding down and GasBuddy data showing disappointing gasoline demand and struggling oil prices, we could eventually see the national average falling a bit more, especially once the refinery in Illinois restarts operations. While hurricane season hasn't been a factor yet, it's also just starting to get into its prime, and that does remain a quiet wildcard for now."
