Boise sees no changes in gas prices after the 4th of July

The cheapest station in Boise, according to GasBuddy, was priced at $3.39 per gallon on Sunday, whereas the most expensive was priced at $3.99 per gallon.

BOISE, Idaho — With an average of $3.57 per gallon, fuel prices in Boise haven't changed in over a week, according to GasBuddy.

GasBuddy surveyed over 216 stations in the Boise area, and what they found is that Boise prices are 6.5 cents lower than a month ago, and are roughly 28 cents lower than a year ago.

The cheapest station in Boise, according to GasBuddy, was priced at $3.39 per gallon on Sunday, whereas the most expensive was priced at $3.99 per gallon, a difference of 60 cents. As for the Gem State, the lowest price on Sunday was $3.13 per gallon and the most expensive was priced at $4.39 per gallon, a difference of $1.26 per gallon.

According to AAA, they found that the average price for a gallon of gas in Boise was $3.59 per gallon, and went up a "fraction of a penny" over the Fourth of July week. That average price is five cents more than a month ago, but three cents les than a year ago, AAA said.

The national average is also unchanged this week, with an average price of $3.46 per gallon.

"The national average price of gasoline has nudged higher over the last week as oil prices have continued to push toward multi-month highs. While it looks like this recent rise could be restrained for now, Hurricane Beryl is a stark reminder that hurricane season could play a role in prices in the weeks ahead," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. "For now, we'll likely continue to see some fluctuations in either direction with the national average moving up, but as we approach August and the peak of hurricane season, there remains a risk that the national average could surge temporarily if we see a major storm in the wrong place."

AAA reports that gas prices "remain calm," they said in a news release.

"We're fortunate that gas prices have been fairly stable despite the record number of travelers that hit the road last week," said AAA Idaho public affairs director Matthew Conde.  "With crude oil prices on the rise, and many vacations yet to be completed, there could be some turbulence on the horizon.  But of course, we're keeping our fingers crossed for another quiet week at the pump."
