The new average price for a gallon of gas is $3.57 per gallon, which is three cents lower than a month ago, and 57 cents lower than a year ago.

BOISE, Idaho — Gas prices in Boise have dropped just one cent in the last week, reports GasBuddy

The new average price for a gallon of gas is $3.57 per gallon, which is three cents lower than a month ago, and 57 cents lower than a year ago.

National average for diesel has also dropped, by three cents, which marks the lowest price for diesel since Jan. 2022.

The cheapest station in Boise was priced at $3.26 per gallon, whereas the most expensive station was priced at $3.69 per gallon, a different of 43 cents.

As for the Gem State, the lowest priced station came in at $3.23 per gallon, and the most expensive came in at $4.09 per gallon, a difference of 86 cents.

According to AAA, Idaho saw half a cent increase across the state, leaving prices virtually the same.

"Gas prices dipped slightly across the Treasure Valley and up in the Panhandle but shot up 15 cents in Franklin.  People enjoying the last warm weather near Bear Lake may be propping up demand in the area," AAA Idaho public affairs director Matthew Conde said.  "We anticipate that the state average will soon begin the seasonal slide that's underway in other parts of the country."

Nationally, the average price for a gallon of gas has dropped by seven cents, marking a new average price of $3.15 on Monday. That national average is down 26 cents from a month ago, and 70 cents lower than a year ago, shows GasBuddy's survey results.

"Gasoline prices continue to crumble across nearly the entire nation, with average prices below $3 per gallon in 18 states, with some 65,000 stations selling below that psychological mark. Diesel prices are also falling and are at their lowest level in nearly 1,000 days," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. "With the change to winter gasoline happening today at most stations across the country, the outlook is bright for the national average to continue to make a run at falling to $2.99 per gallon for the first time since 2021. But while nearly all states are seeing prices drop, refinery maintenance and some outages at California refineries have led to tight supply and rising prices—a situation I hope can be remedied by the end of the month and help California join in on the decline."
