BOISE, Idaho — GasBuddy reports a four cent rise in gas prices in the Boise area this week.

According to GasBuddy, who surveys 216 stations in Boise, reports that the new average price for a gallon of gas is $3.61 on Monday. Prices in Boise are roughly six cents per gallon higher than a month ago, and are almost 20 cents lower than a year ago.

The cheapest station in Boise according to GasBuddy was priced at $3.46 per gallon on Sunday, whereas the most expensive was priced at $3.69 per gallon, a difference of 23 cents.

As for the Gem State, the lowest price reported was $3.21 per gallon, and the most expensive was priced at $4.39, a different of $1.18 per gallon.

AAA reported slightly different numbers, with just a two cent increase in the past week. AAA reports the same state average price of $3.61 per gallon.

Nationally, the average price has risen just about three cents, averaging $3.49 per gallon on Monday. The national average is up five cents from a month ago, and is roughly six cents per gallon lower than a year ago.

"Much like last summer, the nation's average price of gasoline has remained somewhat stuck in the mid-$3 per gallon range with a mixed bag of prices: small declines in some states and modest increases in others as we wait for what could be the next major trend," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. "Hurricane Beryl had no major impact on prices, but some drivers in Texas had trouble finding gasoline due to power outages, a situation that continues to improve. For now, we'll continue to see small price fluctuations as we await news of any hurricane-fueled refinery disruptions or other supply challenges as we head into the busiest weeks of the summer travel season."
