GasBuddy: Gas increased 6 cents in the past week

Prices in Boise are 14 cents lower than a month ago, and stands 32 cents lower than a year ago, GasBuddy said.

BOISE, Idaho — According to GasBuddy, the average price of a gallon of gas in Boise has gone up roughly 6 cents in the past week. The new average price of a gallon of gas is $3.57 per gallon.

Prices in Boise are 14 cents lower than a month ago, and stands 32 cents lower than a year ago, GasBuddy said.

GasBuddy reports that the cheapest station in Boise was priced at $3.35 per gallon on Sunday, while the most expensive was priced at $3.63 per gallon, a difference of 28 cents.

As for the State of Idaho, the lowest priced station was priced at $3.20 per gallon and the highest was $4.19 per gallon, a difference of 99 cents.

National average price of gasoline has also gone up 5 cents this week, marking a new average of $3.46 per gallon. The national average is down six cents from a month ago, and is five cents lower than a year ago, according to GasBuddy.

"As we approach July 4 later this week, motorists have seen the national average price of gasoline inch up ever so slightly for the third straight week," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. "While the increases have been fairly tame, with oil continuing to hold above $80 per barrel, we could continue to see the national average climb slightly. Other areas that see price cycling saw prices shoot up early in the week, but those areas are now starting to see prices fall back down. For many Americans hitting the road for the July 4 holiday, prices in most areas are very comparable to what we saw last July 4. However, with Hurricane Beryl now formed in the Caribbean, we're reminded that gas prices could experience some jolts in the second half of the summer should a storm threaten refining capacity in Texas or Louisiana."
