BOISE, Idaho — Gas prices in Boise have jumped up just over eight cents in the past week, making an average gallon of gas cost $3.65 per gallon on Monday, August 5.

GasBuddy surveyed 216 gas stations in the Boise area, and found prices in Boise not only jumped eight cents this week, but prices are seven cents higher than a month ago. GasBuddy, however, also found that current prices are 32 cents lower than a year ago.

According to GasBuddy, the cheapest station in Boise was priced at $3.39 on Sunday, whereas the most expensive was priced at $3.79 per gallon, a difference of 40 cents.

As for the Gem State, the lowest price in Idaho was $3.19 per gallon, and the highest was priced at $4.86 per gallon, a difference of $1.67 per gallon.

Nationally, the average price of gas has fallen roughly three cents, averaging $3.44 per gallon. That national average is down roughly five cents from a month ago, and is roughly 37 cents lower than a year ago, reports GasBuddy.

AAA reports the average price of a gallon of gas in Idaho is priced at $3.63 per gallon, which is six cents higher than a week ago.

"We've already seen pump prices dip by two cents in the last couple of days, so it's too early to tell if we're going to see much in the way of increases this week," said AAA Idaho public affairs director Matthew Conde.  "We may see prices take a few twists and turns as travelers use the remaining weeks of summer for another road trip or two."
