PENDLETON, Ore. — The Oregon Department of Transportation opened all lanes of traffic at a portion of I-84 after officials closed both lanes.

The closure occurred between Exit 265 (4 miles east of La Grande) and Exit 224 (15 miles east of Pendleton).

As KTVB previously reported, around 3 p.m., Interstate 84 (I-84) in eastern Oregon closed in both directions due several vehicle crashes, according to Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT).

ODOT previously said that highways U.S. 30 and OR 204 (Tollgate Highway) westbound are not suitable as an alternative to I-84, as they are "closed to non-local traffic."
