BOISE, Idaho — With a flurry of snow comes a flurry of poor road conditions. A winter storm system has rolled into the Treasure Valley and commuters are in for a challenging drive to work on Tuesday.
Ada County Sheriff's Office (ACSO) documented 22 vehicle crashes and six slide-offs since midnight. The Boise Airport measured nearly 2 inches of snowfall.
ACSO warns drivers that Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes may pose challenges due to the additional snow forecast for the region.
ACHD is reporting several accidents at the 8 am hour on Tuesday:
On westbound Chinden Blvd, there is a slide off beyond Eagle Road.
North Eagle Road has a slide off near Franklin Road reported at 8:32 a.m.
On westbound Franklin Road and Maple Grove Road, there is a reported accident blocking the right lane.
On I-84 at exit 54, there is a crash reported.
There is an accident on Ten Mile Road North, beyond Ustick Road affecting to the two right lanes of traffic.
Cleared accidents:
I-84 Westbound Ramp at Garrity had a slide off that has been resolved at 7:07 a.m.
State Highway 44 had a crash beyond Star Road, now cleared at 7:07 a.m.
River Valley Road near Stokesberry is cleared as of 7:36 a.m.
Gowen Road is now opened after two reported accidents
