BOISE, Idaho — The Idaho Transportation Department is warning of winter driving conditions in the Boise area Thursday morning.

During the 6 a.m. hour, crashes were reported in Boise on westbound Fairview Avenue between Milwaukee Street and Maple Grove Road, and at 13th and Myrtle streets, which is near the bottom of the eastbound Interstate 184 connector overpass in downtown Boise.

A crash on eastbound I-84 was reported just past Exit 36 -- Franklin Boulevard -- but no lanes were blocked.

ITD reports icy patches on the Connector and on Interstate 84 through Boise, and wet surfaces on I-84 from Caldwell into Meridian.

In the Magic Valley, the Gooding School District canceled school for Thursday because of icy roads and student illnesses. Drifting snow and gusty winds were reported on Highway 46 in that area.

In the mountains, be prepared for ice and packed snow on highways 21, 55 and 75.
