BAKER CITY, Ore. — Update: ODOT announced at 1:30 P.M Mountain Time that I-84 westbound has been reopened in Eastern Oregon.

Interstate 84 is closed to traffic at Baker City Monday morning.

The shutdown started at about 9:30 a.m. and was expected to last two hours. Eastbound lanes remain open.

Crews are currently working to recover a semi at westbound milepost 272 near Ladd Canyon. Cars on the interstate can use OR 237 through Union as a detour to get back to I-84 in La Grande, but the alternate route will be closed to semi trucks and vehicles over 53 feet long.

The westbound side of the interstate is also closed at Exit 374 in Ontario in order to limit traffic at Baker City.
