BOISE, Idaho — The winter weather caused problems for travelers headed into Boise Sunday night.
The Boise Airport was shut down entirely after snow and ice accumulated on the runways, creating a hazard. More than two inches of snow accumulated at the airport during the storm, according to the National Weather Service.
Airport director Rebecca Hupp said several flights into Boise had to be diverted as crews worked to clear the runways for landing.
"The safety of our traveling public is our first priority," she wrote in an email.
The airport was back open with most flights returning to Boise late Sunday. As of Monday morning, most inbound and outbound flights appear to be on time.
