IDAHO CITY, Idaho — The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) has closed the highway from Idaho City to Lowman. In a press release, ITD said that they are anticipating heavy snow fall in the area and are closing it for safety.
The maintenance crews will keep checking the situation and ITD said that the highway will reopen when conditions are suitable and safe for driving.
IDT is telling drivers to take SH-55 to Banks and turn toward Garden Valley in order to reach Lowman.
For updates and other closures, people can go to 511.idaho.gov. If there are more closures they will be posted on ITDs Twitter account or Idaho 511.
