BOISE, Idaho — The National Weather Service (NWS) of Boise is reporting there is Freezing rain in areas across the Treasure Valley.
While accumulations are expected to stay light, it doesn't take a lot of ice to make for very slippery and dangerous conditions. Please be careful while driving in the Treasure Valley, due to the risk of freezing rain continuing into the evening tonight. The highest risk is expected to be from Ontario southwest to Mountain Home, where temperatures are below freezing. Temperatures are much warmer in the Magic Valley tonight.
Freezing rain is being reported by NWS thus far in isolated areas near the Boise Airport, and viewers in Eagle have reported seeing some of the freezing rain as well.
KTVB's Meteorologists have been talking about the chance of freezing rain for several days as Arctic air lingers in valley locations. Thankfully, more mild conditions are expected starting tomorrow, with temperatures getting closer to average and even above average for this time of year.
We'll have the latest information on the News at 6 and News at 10 tonight.
