BOISE, Idaho — The owner of the La Garnacha Que Apapacha restaurant faces two additional rape charges in Canyon County in connection to his alleged lewd conduct with a minor. Police are now concerned there may be more victims.
The Nampa Police Department (NPD) released a community alert to the public stating that they are "concerned there are additional victims" who have not reported their interactions with 37-year-old Jose Sanchez Vazquez.
On April 3, police arrested Vazquez after they alleged he was having lewd conduct with a minor for several months in 2023. He was taken into custody without further incident near 7700 W. Overland Road.
The following day, during a video arraignment, the prosecution stated the victim, who used to work at the restaurant, was 16 years old and 28 weeks pregnant. Vazquez admitted to having sexual relations with the victim, including at the restaurant.
According to NPD, after they learned of his allegations against him, they began investigating and alleged Vazquez is the father.
On Monday, he was going to post his original $200,000 bond, but before he could do so, he was charged with two additional counts of rape associated with the same victim.
"Nampa Detectives took quick action to arrest him on the additional charges, with the belief that he poses a significant threat to other children in our communities," the press release states.
With Vazquez admitting to having sexual relations with the victim across the Treasure Valley, NPD states additional counts may follow.
He now has an additional bond of $250,000 for two Canyon County charges of rape.
If you or someone you know has been in contact with Vazquez, contact the police at 208-343-COPS.
