Police said the child reported two Hispanic men following her while walking home from the bus stop. She said they were driving an unknown grey pickup truck, and they left after she called her sister. However, she told police she recognized them from a week earlier.
According to police, on Oct. 12, the same child was approached by the same two men, and they attempted to speak to her. This time, they were driving a white mini-van with tinted windows. They left when she started calling her sister.
As KTVB last reported, another possible child enticement occurred Sunday, Oct. 15, around 7:45 p.m. on N. Indiana Ave and Roosevelt St. CPD said the man was Hispanic and between 30 and 40 years old. The model of the car is not known, but it is red with tinted windows.
The girl then ran to a nearby friend's home, and police said she was safe.
"Please be vigilant," said Rex Ingram, Caldwell's chief of police. "If you see something, say something. The safety of our children is the cornerstone of our profession, so we will continue to be resolute in our effort to identify and arrest these predators."
