BOISE, Idaho — Here something to keep in mind if you are still looking for a place to take young children out trick-or-treating this Halloween.
Many assisted living facilities in the area welcome the youngsters.
Mandy Campbell Thomas shared a post on her Facebook page that has already been shared hundreds of times.
She created a list of assisted living facilities in Ada and Canyon counties that are doing trick-or-treating today and the times. She says she has verified all the ones posted. KTVB advises our viewers to call ahead before visiting one of the facilities.
Thomas said she was looking for the best way for her 4-year-old son, who has Sensory Processing Disorder and is on the Autism Spectrum, to be able to participate in Halloween activities without being overwhelmed or scared of decorations or people.
She saw an article about a facility in another state and how much the residents there loved seeing all the kids and the laughter they brought.
What better way to bring a smile to her son’s face and the residents in the assisted living, she said.
Thomas said she didn’t realize how many other families would love this idea.
