The Ada County Highway District planned to close down the popular trick-or-treating spot beginning at 3:30 p.m. The road closure will run until 9:30 p.m.

BOISE, Idaho — Harrison Boulevard is closed to traffic for Halloween.

The Ada County Highway District announced earlier this week that it planned to close the boulevard between Resseguie Street and Hill Road.

The closure began at 3:30 p.m. and will last until 9:30 p.m.

Lemp Street will be the only side street open.

Boise Police will be at the intersection of Harrison and Lemp to help children safely cross the street.

Resseguie and Hill will remain open.

Each year, thousands of trick or treaters come to Harrison Boulevard. Residents go all out decorating their homes and are ready to give out lots of candy to the kids.

It’s become a Halloween tradition that took root in the 1970s when more and more people started coming to the area because it felt safe.
