Belly Dump semi-truck rollover closes Highway 16 for 4 hours

The 63-year-old semi-truck driver from Nampa overcorrected the vehicle, causing it to roll on its side and block all lanes of the highway for four hours.

EAGLE, Idaho — Idaho State Police (ISP) is investigating a semi-truck rollover crash that closed Highway 16 (Hwy 16) to through traffic for approximately four hours on Tuesday.

Police said at approximately 11 a.m., a 63-year-old semi-truck driver from Nampa overcorrected the Belly Dump trailer and drove off the road, before it rolled on its side and blocked all north and southbound lanes of Hwy 16 at milepost 102.5 near Eagle.

The driver was brought to the hospital ambulance. ISP provided no additional information regarding his injuries or condition.

The highway has since reopened. The crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
