BOISE, Idaho — The wind in your hair, the fun and the freedom; Most everyone remembers their first bike. Boise Bicycle Project (BBP) does that every year with its annual "Holiday Bike Giveaway," where the kid's dream bike begins with a drawing of their perfect bike.
"Atticus dreams of riding safely to school. Maryam imagines pedaling to visit her grandma. Julian hopes to explore the world with his friends," stated a release.
Beyond bikes, the nonprofit also adds the "Adopt-A-Dream Bike Campaign."
The bike adoptions open on Dec. 2, and BBP are hoping to get as many people as they can to donate to the bike adoption. By adopting a bike people, "cover the costs of repairs, accessories, and the magic that transforms a donated bike into a child's dream come true."
BBP stated that this year they are on a bit of a time crunch because of a shortened holiday window.
"That's why we urgently need your help," a release stated. "Dream Bike Adoptions" open on December 2nd, and we have just two weeks to match over 600 dream bikes - more than we've ever had before. Will you help us make this holiday season magical for hundreds of kids?"
