BOISE, Idaho — The Bureau of Reclamation is looking for the public's feedback on a proposed project that would overhaul the Ridenbaugh Canal.
This project is a modernization project, as the current canal is reaching the end of its intended useful life, said the Bureau of Reclamation.
Actions being done for the project must be analyzed by the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and other relevant state and federal laws, to determine the environmental consequences. Scoping is one step of the NEPA process in which agencies seek input from those who may be directly impacted by the project, said the Bureau of Reclamation.
During the scoping period, which goes until Oct. 31, 2024, folks are encouraged to identify important issues and concerns with this canal modernization project.
