CALDWELL, Idaho — In Caldwell, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
Starting now, you can get in the holiday spirit and take a ride or skate on the ice ribbon. The city's one of a kind ice ribbon officially opened for the season at Indian Creek Plaza.
"It's kind of similar to floating a river or like a raft ride, so you can skate your way through the trail," said Indian Creek Plaza’s event manager Krista Allcott.
Candy Hunter and Dustin Rynearson were among the first to get on the ice Wednesday afternoon.
"My favorite part was definitely getting the skates on and going around without falling over,” Hunter said. “It was amazing, so much fun, can’t wait to get back on there."
The opening of the ice ribbon comes just two days before the Winter Wonderland Festival is scheduled to illuminate Caldwell on Friday.
“We have vendors we have live performances, musicians, acrobats, stilt walkers, plenty of enjoyment and entertainment for everybody,” Allcott said.
Organizers will flip the switch for the lights on Friday at 7:30 p.m. they'll stay on through January.
