BOISE, Idaho — Idaho Fish and Game has reopened Horsethief Reservoir Campground for day use, as of Tuesday, Sept. 17.
The campground was closed on Aug. 16, after the Snag Fire broke out. Firefighters needed the campground for housing while they battled the flames.
Regional Fish and Game employees were informed by fire officials that the campground was no longer needed for Snag Fire fighting.
With the reopening of the campground, Fish and Game points out that the campground is day use only.
Fish and Game highlights some positive light, stating that Horsethief Reservoir will be receiving 7,500 catchable rainbow trout this month. The fish will be roughly 12-inches in length.
