IDAHO FALLS, Idaho — In March of 2024, five felony charges were up against 23-year-old Lance Broncho in relation to the death of Eric Leask in Idaho Falls.
Broncho initially faced first-degree murder, robbery, burglary, unlawful possession of a firearm and aggravated battery charges. However, Broncho earlier this week pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and aggravated battery – the other three charges were dismissed due to a plea agreement.
"Under the plea agreement, both parties will recommend life imprisonment, with the State recommending 35 years before eligibility for parole, and the Defense limited to recommending no less than 25 years before eligibility for parole," Bonneville County Prosecuting Attorney Randy Neal said in a news release.
The plea agreement also protects Broncho from the death penalty that was initially sought by prosecutors.
Sentencing for the murder charge against Broncho is scheduled for Oct. 7, 2024.
