NAMPA, Idaho — UPDATE: On Thanksgiving Day, police announced that Antonio had been found safe.
The Nampa Police Department is asking for the public's help finding a teenager who has been missing for more than a month.
Antonio Varela Jr, 15, left his home in the downtown area during the early morning hours of October 22, police said. A missing persons report was filed with police on Tuesday.
"Due to the information provided and length of time Antonio has been missing prior to this report, we are concerned for his well-being," the department said in a statement.
The teen is 5-feet-5 inches tall with green eyes and dark brown hair. He was possibly wearing khaki jeans and an unknown colored t-shirt.
Investigators are asking for anyone with information about Antonio’s whereabouts to give them a call at (208) 465-2257, extension 2. You can also contact Crime Stoppers at 208-343-COPS (2677).
An earlier version of this story had an incorrect spelling of Antonio Varela's last name. The Nampa Police Dept. sent out a correction to its original news release on Wednesday.
